Super Valentine

We had a great Valentine's Day yesterday. We went with a superhero theme this year. The boys loved it and Carter called them super boys. Allen had to take a mail box to school for his valentines this year. Since we did superhero valentines, he wanted a mail box to match. So, we ended up with a pretty cool super Allen mail box. It was fun making it together. When he took it to school and everyone liked it you could see how proud he was of himself. When I got back from taking the kids to school, Kevin had made a trail of valentines around the house that had funny pick up lines on them. And when I got to the end there was a bouquet of red roses waiting for me. It was very thoughtful and nice. Also later that day my best friend Amelia had sent flowers for me. So, I got double the love this year. We finished off the day with some red heart shaped pancakes for dinner. It was as SUPER fun Valentine's Day.

The super slot for his valentines to go in.

I was up making these all night and in my delirium I could not resist making this silly video.

Carter's Glasses

Carter got his eyes checked this week and we found out that he is far sighted and has a severe double astigmatism. The poor kid needs glasses and the doctor said that he sees everything elongated. So, everyone looks like long skinny zombie people. When he put on his glasses for the first time he looked at me for about a minute straight. Then he looked around the room pointing at things and saying "wow". All night the look in his eyes has been like a whole new world opened up to him. So, I guess the poor kid really did need glasses. Now when Evan turns 2 and gets his glasses all the boys will have glasses. My little family of nerds.

Snow!

We got a bunch of snow the last couple of days and the boys have just loved it. They have been playing outside several times a day and for hours at a time. It's so fun to watch them all out having a blast. We didn't build a snowman this year but we did go sledding. I love the snow. It makes for some awesome family moments.

Evan love love loved the snow this year. Just look how happy he is.

Evan had so much fun sledding. No one was allowed to go down without him on the sled. Then he insisted on being pulled back up.

Allen and Carter had some friends come with us. So, I think they would have stayed all day and night.

When Evan didn't get to go on someone's sled he would try to sled down the hill on his bum or tummy.

Carter was so focused and in the sledding zone for pretty much the whole time.

Evan doing his best impersonation of a seal on an ice flow. I think it's pretty accurate.

Up at the top of the hill, I spent most of the time chatting with my ladies and giving kids a push start.

As always the hardest part of sledding is the hike back up.

This year Carter was all about sledding. If he couldn't get on with someone he just went by himself. He is getting so big. So, this is him coming down alone (commentary by Evan).

More Cake

This is the new cake I just made for a girl who was turning 15. She is really into crafts and she wanted the young women's colors. It was so much fun to make.
The cake all put together and done.
Just some of the little details. I had a good time doing this one.

Christmas Time 2011

Christmas this year was super fun. The kids were so excited and bouncing off the walls the whole week before. And it only got worse the closer Christmas came. On Christmas Eve Grandma and Grandpa Tulett came over and spent the day with us. We handed out some treats to neighbors and friends. We went out and played in the snow and for dinner we had a Christmas BBQ (at Kevin's request). But after all that the real fun began. Grandma whipped out her scriptures and candles (yes, I said candles) and told the story of Jesus' birth. The story was wonderful, however we could have done without the candles. She had the great idea that she wanted each one of the kids to hold there own candle through out the story. Well seeing as my kids at 6, 3, and 1 it didn't go over so well. But don't worry the house didn't burn down (before we convinced her that it wasn't the best idea), just part of the couch. But the fun didn't stop there. Next we read The Night Before Christmas and ended the evening with a super awesome fun game of Pictionary. Everyone was able to be involved and we laughed the whole time. In the morning we woke up to see that Santa had come and he was very generous this year. So we opened presents, had some breakfast, and off we went to church. When we got back everyone played with their gifts and we ate a really really yummy dinner that my mother and I cooked together. It was truly a lovely holiday.

The kids got all dressed up to see Santa at the mall so we decided to take there cute picture all together. What handsome boys we have.Evan had had enough of the camera but we got a good one of Allen and Carter in front of the tree. And a nice close up of Evan not so right in front of the tree.
Our lovely Christmas set up this year. I'm really excited that we have a fire place to put out stocking over now.And in the dark. Here are my tyrants out on Christmas Eve having there snowball fight. And yes even the big one got in on the mischief.I didn't let poor Evan go out this time but he had lots of fun getting hit by snowballs. Good thing the window was there to protect him.The night before Christmas the boys always open there Christmas jammies. Here we are with our awesome Pictionary set up. Carter and Grandpa trying to guess what the heck I'm drawing.Santa came!Boys and there loot.
It's stocking time!
Look what Carter got in his stocking.
Hanging with Grandma after all the presents have been opened.
This year from Grandpa and Grandma Meagher the family got a wii. This was the best reaction of the morning. Allen was so thrilled. Just in case you couldn't tell. Thank you everyone who helped make this Christmas truly special.

Allen's 1st Grade Christmas Party

Allen had a party in his class for Christmas this year. They all got their own personal classroom stockings. In each stocking there was candy from each friend in the class. Once they got their stockings the party began and they all had good times. Towards the end his teacher gave each child a book for a present and they all read it together. It was a super cute party and I think they all had fun.

Here is Allen's classroom stocking full of all his goodies.
Digging through the loot.
Partying down.
I wonder what that present could be?
Oh, it was a book. I would have never guessed! Allen loved the whole day and came home super happy. He loves Christmas time.

Carter's Preschool Christmas Party

Carter had a Christmas party in his class this year and I have to say I think it was the best party he had ever been to. They started off in the gym playing their reindeer games. That he loved. Then Carter and his friends went back to the classroom for treats and story time. After that the party really heated up because Santa himself walked into the room and had all the kids take a turn talking with him. Carter was blown away. He was so thrilled to see the fat man that he could hardly stand it. This is one kid who really really loves Mr. Clause.

In the classroom singing and listening to Christmas stories.
His face the second he saw Santa's red coat coming though the door.
Carter and the big man himself. He was so excited to get to spend time with Santa that he flew from his chair and into Santa's lap the second Santa called his name. It was so much fun to witness Carter feeling so much joy.
